Founded in 1982 by Mrs. María Alicia Claramunt and Dr. Michael Varley, Wenlock School began as a dream to guide the integral education of its students. It started in a house on La Reconquista Street in Las Condes with 28 students. It has grown to more than 800 students and is now located at Carlos Peña Otaegui 10880 in Las Condes, with views of the Andes. The school's name honors the English town of Much Wenlock, selected for historical and personal reasons. Its hallmark is a spirit of service that guides its work and aims to shape citizens and leaders for tomorrow.
The school accompanies students and cooperates with families in the learning process, forming participative and reflective learners in harmony with themselves and the world through innovative, compassionate, balanced, and supportive education, prioritizing bilingual learning and physical activity. Its vision emphasizes interaction and communication as core to development in a technology-driven world, with a dialogic, student-centered approach that promotes reflection, tolerance, collaboration, critical thinking, and socioemotional skills, using new methodologies and technology. The PEI highlights bilingual education, sport, outdoor education and environmental care, integral education, and a laic, inclusive climate that promotes service and respectful convivencia. Parents are considered the first educators, and the school collaborates with families in this task.
