Chaoyang Kaiwen Academy is a K-12 international bilingual school established in 2017, with a campus area of 280,000 square meters. It develops students with balanced, well-rounded international competitiveness. It pursues a Chinese-informed international education and aims to cultivate graduates who are academically excellent, curious, and equally grounded in science and the humanities. Students achieve healthy development across intellectual, emotional, physical, and social dimensions.
The school has outstanding sports facilities, including a reinforced-concrete ice hockey rink and other athletic spaces. Seven professional sports courses are integrated into the regular timetable to support holistic, individualized growth. Through team sports and competitions, students develop leadership, teamwork, resilience, integrity, and fair play. The campus supports comprehensive physical education as part of the overall curriculum.
The school follows China's national curriculum standards and references the Cambridge CAIE framework. The high school pathway includes the international direction with IBDP, A-Level, and AP options, along with an International High School Arts program and a national Gao Kao track. In February 2020, Chaoyang Kaiwen was authorized to offer the IB DP program and is an IB World School. Six graduating classes have earned a total of USD 8.33 million in university scholarships. The school has five global curriculum partners, six personalized pathways for college admission, and teachers average 16 years of teaching experience; there are more than 170 enrichment courses available.
The school presents three signature experiential strands: Sports, Science & Innovation (科创), and Arts. Sports include seven professional offerings integrated into the timetable to support holistic growth. Science & Innovation combines theory and practice as students engage in research and engineering design; teachers hold master's degrees and bring extensive experience. The program includes participation in global competitions such as Botball World Finals, WER Asia, and RoboRave, with multiple awards won. Arts emphasizes visual and performing arts, and in October 2020, Kaiwen Education Group became the exclusive partner in China for Berklee College of Music's K-12 modern music education; students express themselves through diverse art forms to build motivation, confidence, critical thinking, and creativity.
Chaoyang Kaiwen Academy (北京朝阳凯文学校) opened in 2017 and is a K–12 bilingual school located in Chaoyang District, Beijing. The school describes a blended programme that follows the Chinese national curriculum in compulsory years and offers international pathways in senior secondary (including IBDP, A-Level and AP), and has Cambridge-authorised programmes across stages. Primary years include a MATI (Mathematics, AI, Technology and Innovation) strand for young pupils; the school also highlights a sustained arts programme (including a partnership with Berklee's K–12 modern music programme) and a growing STEM/innovation offer. The school reports IBDP authorization in February 2020, runs an on-campus boarding option (optional boarding fees) and operates an extensive school-bus service covering multiple Beijing districts.
