Chaoyang KaiWen Academy was established in 2017 as a K–12 bilingual school and is operated within the Kaiwen education group. The campus development covers roughly 280,000 square meters. The school is administered under the Kaiwen education organization (visible in the school's public materials) and follows a blended Chinese–international curriculum model. Chaoyang KaiWen received authorization to offer the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme on 26 February 2020.
The school community is composed of Chinese and international faculty working in a bilingual, cross‑cultural teaching model and a student body engaged in both Chinese national and international pathways. The campus calendar includes recurring academic and cultural events such as the primary-school Art Carnival (winter exhibitions and performances), an annual Pi Day mathematics series, and open‑day events that bring external university guests and presentations to campus. Families and staff also participate in regular parent–teacher meetings and extracurricular showcases; the school highlights a broad range of after‑school clubs and arts, sports and STEM activities.
Chaoyang KaiWen maintains a formal parent committee (家委会) that is constituted by parent representatives recommended by parents and homeroom teachers and subsequently approved by the school. The committee holds full meetings to introduce school policy, gather parent feedback, and advise on school development—one such full meeting was reported on 17 October 2023. The school has run periodic parent‑teacher conferences (for example early‑September meetings to introduce the year's curriculum and update home–school communication) and organizes elections for new parent committee members. Over recent years the committee has been used as a channel for consultation around curriculum, student services and event planning, and the school's news posts document parent participation in school forums and large events. Parents interested in specific committee roles are generally expected to work through class teachers and the school's admissions or administration office.
Chaoyang Kaiwen Academy (北京朝阳凯文学校) opened in 2017 and is a K–12 bilingual school located in Chaoyang District, Beijing. The school describes a blended programme that follows the Chinese national curriculum in compulsory years and offers international pathways in senior secondary (including IBDP, A-Level and AP), and has Cambridge-authorised programmes across stages. Primary years include a MATI (Mathematics, AI, Technology and Innovation) strand for young pupils; the school also highlights a sustained arts programme (including a partnership with Berklee's K–12 modern music programme) and a growing STEM/innovation offer. The school reports IBDP authorization in February 2020, runs an on-campus boarding option (optional boarding fees) and operates an extensive school-bus service covering multiple Beijing districts. For admissions the school publishes the main intake points (preschool, Grade 1, Grade 6, Grade 9 and Grade 10) and a class maximum of 24 students. (All information taken from the school website.)
