The school was founded in 1977. It is an International Baccalaureate (IB) Continuum school with a mixed-gender (Mixto) calendar (Calendar B), bilingual with a third language, and a holistic education approach.
The school is the first in Bogotá, the second in Colombia, and the fourth in Latin America to receive Cognia's STEM certification.
Colombia's Colegio CIEDI is a co-educational International Baccalaureate World School serving students aged 3 to 18. It delivers the IB Continuum (PYP, MYP, DP) with IB certifications at all three stages since 2006. Languages of instruction are Spanish, English and French, with a bilingual framework incorporating a third language. Founded in 1977, CIEDI operates a campus on the Van der Hammen Nature Reserve with campuses in Cota and Tenjo, integrating Nature's Classroom and Integrated STEM as pedagogies.
