After School Activities (ASA) expands student involvement with a diverse selection of options for all students from kindergarten through grade 12. The ASA program runs three days a week—Sundays, Mondays, and Wednesdays from 3:00 to 4:00 pm—and offers activities spanning sports, performing and creative arts, community service, ICT, culinary, and academic enrichment. The program is designed to extend knowledge, understanding, and creativity beyond the school curriculum while promoting social and physical well-being.
Performing Arts are central to Hayah's School Events. The Performing Arts Department auditions for and presents a production each year with students from elementary to high school, and the backstage team handles sound, lights, props, makeup, and costumes. The Hayah Annual Art Competition brings together multiple schools with a new theme each year and features partners and sponsors that support drawing, painting, collage, and photography; winning works have even become carpets. The Arabic Culture Night showcases performances, a choir, and student performances, with the event run under the supervision of the Performing Arts department.
Arabic Culture Night is an annual tradition celebrating the Arabic language and culture; performances are conducted by talented Elementary, Middle and High School students and the night includes a choir. The event is aligned with the school's mission and highlights figures who have influenced Arabic or Egyptian art, literature, or culture, with student backstage involvement in lights, sound, props, makeup, and more. TEDxYouth@The Nile at Hayah features talks in both Arabic and English.
MS and HS Student Councils are elected to represent the student body and voice concerns through the council structure, organizing social events such as talent shows, BBQs, and the end-of-year Summer Bash, as well as supporting school-wide initiatives. HIAMUN, Hayah's Model United Nations, gives students leadership opportunities from grade 8 onward, with admins and delegates at local and international conferences. The Entrepreneur Fair, run by Grade 8, lets students design and present more than 100 business ideas, fostering creativity, teamwork, leadership, and entrepreneurial skills.
Trips & Camps include day trips and overnight camps both locally and internationally, designed to complement educational development and featuring MS/HS School Without Walls and service action elements. Live Earth Run for Water events, organized since 2010 in collaboration with the ministry of water resources, support river and canal cleanups and related community initiatives. Hayah also hosts annual community-focused activities and fundraisers as part of its broader character education and events program.
HIAMUN began in 2011 and has become THIMUN-affiliated, challenging student delegates to research, debate, and craft resolutions in a realistic UN setting. TEDxYouth@The Nile provides opportunities for students to develop public speaking and leadership through talks in Arabic and English. Student Councils enable leadership roles within the school, while the annual Entrepreneur Fair offers hands-on experiences in entrepreneurship and project management.
Hayah emphasizes social and emotional well-being through its Character Education Program, which supports self-reflection, empathy, and responsible citizenship across all grades. The ASA program promotes social and physical well-being by offering a wide range of after-school activities. Hayah Sports Academy provides extensive athletic facilities, including indoor and outdoor courts, two heated pools, a gym, squash courts, and track facilities to support students' health and fitness.
Hayah International Academy is a private international school in Egypt offering the IB continuum (PYP, MYP, DP) alongside the American High School Diploma for students aged 3 to 18. The main campus is in New Cairo, with Hayah West in Sheikh Zayed City, creating two Cairo campuses as the network grows. The Hayah community is described as a family, guided by core values and a commitment to local and global engagement. The 55,000-square-meter campus provides academic, artistic, and athletic facilities, with six fully equipped science labs, five computer labs, and a Maker Space Lab for 3D printing, robotics, and coding. Classrooms feature smart boards; iPads and tablets are used in PYP. Sports facilities include a multi-purpose gym, two squash courts, outdoor tracks and courts, and Olympic-size pools. After-school activities span ASA, Performing Arts, Arabic Culture Night, TEDxYouth@The Nile, HIAMUN, and service trips. The curriculum emphasizes inquiry, collaboration, and impact.
