The Alternative International School of Angers is an independent bilingual day school in Angers founded by parents as a nonprofit, community-based association. It offers French–English immersion from age 3 and runs a primary program for CP to CM2, with a bilingual collège planned for the future. Class sizes are small (around 15 pupils), and the school draws on alternative pedagogies such as Montessori, Freinet, Céline Alvarez, and neuroscience insights, together with outdoor schooling (École du dehors). A balanced timetable supports younger children with nap spaces and a flexible extended-day program. Lunch is on site, with 40% organically sourced ingredients, 100% Label Rouge-certified meat, and weekly vegetarian options.
