iDSP students participate in national and inter-school competitions. Elodie won first place and Sunaina placed fourth in the 2025 Vorlesewettbewerb (reading competition) at Saint‑Germain‑en‑Laye. A group project from the Grünes Band competition, organized by the Bundeszentrale für politische Bildung, earned a prize for the iDSP team. Students also took part in a German-language reading contest hosted by German schools.
EMFA (École de Musique Franco-Allemande) sits on the iDSP campus and offers instrument lessons in German and French for children and adults; its motto is Musique sans frontières. Musicians of all ages and levels are welcome. The school's afternoon programs include Arbeitsgemeinschaften (AGs) for after‑school clubs, with daily sessions and a structured sign‑up process. The Kunst‑AG organizes art activities and excursions such as the Salon des Beaux‑Arts de Garches. Oktoberfest and other cultural events are part of the iDSP cultural programming.
All primary students learn French four hours per week as part of a French language program, with a French as a Foreign Language track and a native-language option for bilingual students; the school also introduces the culture of the host country. An after‑school English course runs for two hours for students in grades 2–4. German language offerings for French‑speaking children include beginner and intermediate courses as part of the Mittwochsschule (Wednesday school), taught by native German‑speaking teachers. The Mittwochschule emphasizes hands‑on, interactive learning and cultural instruction to introduce German language and customs.
Ganztagsschule offers Arbeitsgemeinschaften (AGs), after‑school clubs that run daily from 14:00 to 15:30 and require annual participation once registered, with a fair lottery if demand exceeds capacity. The Kunst‑AG includes excursions such as the Salon des Beaux‑Arts de Garches. The Amicale (parents' association) promotes community life, funds school projects, and organizes events including the Christmas market. The Accueil périscolaire provides after‑school care from 15:30 to 18:30 with games, crafts, and social activities on the main campus.
The Amicale de l'iDSP is a non‑profit association whose members are mainly parents and alumni; its primary goal is to raise funds to support the school and kindergarten, promote community life, ease the entry of new families, and connect the school with the French environment. All profits from the Amicale's activities go 100% to the school and kindergarten, and the association runs events including festivals and the Christmas market.
The Studien- und Berufsberatung (study and career guidance) at iDSP aligns with the diversity of its students and supports secondary students with choosing schools or apprenticeships, working with external partners in France, Germany, and other European countries. In grade 9 students undertake a multi‑day social internship; grade 10 includes a two‑week internship; grades 11–12 focus on study and career guidance, including possible participation in a German‑French study fair. iDSP graduates are eligible to participate in the central admissions process via Parcoursup. Praktika (internships) are offered and coordinated through the school's career guidance office.
The Betreuungszentrum (after‑school care) operates every weekday from 15:30 to 18:30 for kindergarten and for children up to class 5, with options to book specific days and durations. The center is on the main site in Building B and includes space for resting and play in a green area, along with activities such as board games, ball games, crafts, and socializing. After‑school programs also include daily AGs from 14:00 to 15:30, creating opportunities for physical activity and creative pursuits.
Deutsche Schule Paris (iDSP) is a German international school in Paris, operated by the Deutsche Schulverein Paris and funded by the German Foreign Office via the German Embassy Paris. It serves children from ages 3 to 18 and offers a bespoke German curriculum alongside a French curriculum, with a strong emphasis on German-language instruction up to the Abitur and AbiBac. The campus includes Villa Kunterbunt (kindergarten), Grundschule and Sekundarstufe, three libraries, and a Kantine that provides daily meals prepared by Les Marmites Volantes. Ganztagsschule runs after‑school activities from 14:00 to 15:30, while Betreuungszentrum provides after‑school care from 15:30 to 18:30. Language learning is multilingual, with German, French and English taught in small groups; core subjects include mathematics, sciences, geography, politics, history, art, music, sport, and electives. iDSP traces its origins to 1958 and maintains a bilingual approach aimed at enabling graduates to pursue higher education worldwide, including Abitur and AbiBac.
