The Deutsche Schule Toulouse was founded in 1973 and is sponsored by the German School Society Toulouse (DSVT). It is a private school recognised by the Standing Conference of the Ministers of Education and Cultural Affairs of the Federal Republic of Germany (KMK) and supported by the Federal Foreign Office through financial aid and seconded teachers from Germany. Kindergarten and primary are based at the Eurocampus, while secondary is based at the Lycée International Victor Hugo, in cooperation with partner institutions. The school is recognised as an Exzellente Deutsche Auslandsschule, signposting German educational excellence.
With families and employees of different nationalities and backgrounds, the school is a diverse and open-minded community that makes it easy for new students, new parents and new colleagues to integrate into our school. School life is characterised by a lively learning environment and a strong sense of togetherness, with many clubs, projects, cultural events, trips and competitions that offer space to explore interests.
Friends of DST (the DST parents association) was founded in March 2016 by parents. It organises activities around school life and involves parents across kindergarten, primary and secondary. The association is registered under French law as an Association Loi 1901 (non-profit). It fosters access to German media through group book orders, coordinates events such as flea markets and parent cafés, and supports events like the primary school summer festival and UNICEF charity runs. It also promotes intercultural ties on the Eurocampus with the International School of Toulouse through the Galette des Rois Café. Proceeds support DST projects, such as books and play equipment for the kindergarten and materials for the secondary school. Membership is open to all and can be joined via the Beitrittserklärung with contact freundederdst@gmail.com.
