Language learning opportunities and multilingual education

Language Provision

The school teaches English and French. All teachers are English speakers and communicate exclusively in English with students, enabling English-language immersion and bilingual education through immersion. Français Langue Étrangère (FLE) supports non-French speakers, and English Mother Tongue (EMT) supports English-native speakers. The school offers kindergarten through secondary bilingual programs.

Bilingual Teaching

Galilée School provides bilingual education in English and French. In the kindergarten, instruction is 50/50 between English and French, delivering an immersive dual-language experience. English is introduced from nursery and is used across core subjects such as music, sport, and exploring the world. Cambridge English examinations have a 100% pass rate from Starters to KET since 2010.

Immersion Programs

Bilingual French/English immersion education is offered across the early years, with English-language immersion supported by an English-speaking teaching staff. The program uses Français Langue Étrangère (FLE) for non-French speakers and English Mother Tongue (EMT) for native English speakers to support language development. English and French are used across the curriculum to foster bilingual proficiency.

Primary is bilingual and aligned with the National Education program and the English Curriculum; from CE1, Spanish is introduced to create a tri-lingual environment. The College provides a triple curriculum in English, French and Spanish until the brevet des collèges, supported by an excellence program that emphasizes solidarity and teamwork and a progression to Lycée. Gifted education is individualized. The school embodies values in a secular setting today.
