80 Chemin du Grand Roule, 69110 Sainte-Foy-lès-Lyon, France. Located in the peaceful suburb of Sainte-Foy-lès-Lyon, just southwest of Lyon. The campus sits between a family-oriented village and a world-class city.

Additional Learning Support

English language support (ESOL) is available for students who need it. In secondary school a minimum English level is required to access the curriculum; French is compulsory.

Day Structure

The school opens at 8:05; lessons begin at 8:20. Finishing times are 15:35 on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday; 12:05 on Wednesdays; 14:55 on Fridays. IB Diploma students have a variable timetable.

Additional mandatory and optional fees (per child unless otherwise stated)

- Library deposit (refundable): EUR 350.
- PTA fee: EUR 20.
- ESOL (English support), where applicable (Grades 2–10): EUR 650 per trimester.
- SEN (special educational needs) support — placement-based fees:
- Placement A (mainstream with indirect support/resource assistance): EUR 900 (annual).
- Placement B (mainstream with SENCo co-teaching support): EUR 1,800 (annual).
- Placement C (direct SENCo support - part time): EUR 2,700 (annual).
- Placement D (direct SENCo support - full time): EUR 3,600 (annual).
- After-school care (garderie) is payable by term at the start of each term; the fee is not refundable if you withdraw from the service.
- Hot school meals are available at midday and are charged separately (meals are not included in the tuition).
- Excluded from tuition and billed separately where applicable: mandatory school supplies, online course/support providers and related fees, additional external exam fees (PSAT, SAT, BMAT, etc.), residential school trips beyond the school's 50% participation contribution, extra-curricular trips and certain external interventions.

Billing schedule and payment terms

- Tuition is generally due in full before 31 August, provided the school has received the signed financial agreement.
- Families may instead pay by direct debit in either three equal instalments or ten monthly instalments; the instalment option requires a signed financial agreement and is available only by bank direct debit.
- For the 2025–2026 year, scheduled payments take place from June 2025 to March 2026.
- Students who start after 31 December are charged 65% of the annual tuition; students starting after 1 April are charged 40% of the annual tuition.
- Payment methods accepted: credit card, cheque drawn on a local or foreign bank, or bank transfer (IBAN: FR76 1780 6009 7575 7330 7200 097). Bank transfer fees charged by the sending bank will be added to the family's account.
- Only one invoice is issued per family; duplicate invoices are charged at EUR 50 each.
- Late payments: interest at 4.92% per month on outstanding balances and an administrative charge of EUR 50 may be applied for late or unpaid amounts.

Refunds and cancellations

- Application fees and capital assessment (enrolment) fees are non-refundable.
- Library deposit (EUR 350) is refundable provided books and instruments are returned in good condition.
- Withdrawal refunds: pupils (whether privately paying or company-sponsored) who leave the school before 31 December will receive a refund equal to 35% of the annual tuition, provided the director is notified in writing by the legal guardian before 1 December. No refund is given for the remainder of the school year after 31 December.
- No refunds are given for students who are expelled.

Boarding

- Boarding is not applicable; ISL operates as a day school and does not list boarding or boarding fees.

ISL is a not-for-profit independent international school in Sainte-Foy-lès-Lyon, set on protected woodland with purpose-built facilities on its own grounds. The campus features light, spacious classrooms around a central atrium, with dedicated spaces for art and design, music and movement, ICT, and a large library shared by primary and secondary. The school serves ages 3 to 18 and offers three programs: the IB Primary Years Programme, Cambridge IGCSE, and the IB Diploma Programme. In Grades 9–10 students take Cambridge IGCSE; Grades 11–12 prepare for the IB Diploma, with an ISL Diploma available if the full IB Diploma is not pursued. ISL emphasizes inquiry-based, real-world learning through cross-curricular projects such as Leading Your Learning, the STEAM Project, UN SDG initiatives and the Grade 8 Personal Project. The campus provides on-site PE and arts facilities, access to municipal gym and pool, and outdoor spaces including a multi-sport field and amphitheatre. ISL is regularly inspected by the French National Education Ministry and reinvests enrollment fees to improve the learning environment.
