Curriculum maps are available and social-emotional learning is integrated as part of a holistic approach. On the Passy campus, Secondary follows the English National Curriculum with IGCSE in Grades 9-10 and A-level in Grades 11-12, alongside university counselling. Kingsworth places wellbeing at the center of learning, combining social‑emotional development with academics. The wellbeing program includes initiatives to ensure every student feels safe, valued, and supported. Wellbeing initiatives are tailored to each age group and adapted to meet individual needs. In the Primary section, Thrive and Grow integrates social‑emotional learning with safeguarding to foster resilience and emotional intelligence. In the Secondary, a Buddy System helps arriving students integrate, and dedicated form tutors monitor both academic progress and social‑emotional wellbeing. Open communication with families and annual safeguarding training for staff underpin the safeguarding framework.
Nursery and Lower Primary use a bilingual program with English and French taught 50/50. Upper Primary shifts toward more English instruction while continuing French at appropriate levels to support progression to the Middle/Secondary structure. In Secondary, English is the primary language of instruction, with mandatory French in Middle School and options to continue French for Cambridge examinations and to study Spanish for external examinations. Pupils who require language support receive scaffolded and differentiated small‑group EAL (English as an Additional Language) or FLE (français langue étrangère) lessons for one hour per week until they can follow standard lessons. English phonics and spelling groups are used in Primary to support language development, differentiating instruction by level. The policy aims to ensure all students have access to the full English/French curriculum with targeted language support as needed.
Mental wellbeing is a core focus, with a holistic approach that supports students to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. The wellbeing program includes a range of initiatives designed to ensure every student feels safe, valued, and supported, and is carefully tailored to each age group and individual needs. The Kingsworth Adaptation Program in both Primary and Secondary includes a Buddy System, dedicated form tutors, and parent support to ease transitions and promote wellbeing. Form tutors monitor social‑emotional progress and serve as a primary contact for families. From nursery onward, wellbeing and mental health awareness are promoted among students, parents, and staff.
Safeguarding is integrated across Primary and Secondary education. As an ECIS member school, safeguarding is a priority, with all staff receiving comprehensive safeguarding training annually. Staff must report suspected incidents of child abuse or neglect, with reporting extending to local authorities when appropriate. The policy is distributed annually to parents, applicants, and students, and is reviewed for compliance and effectiveness each year. Detailed safeguarding guidelines cover physical contact, boundaries, and incident reporting, and a designated safeguarding lead coordinates referrals and training. The school maintains a safeguarding officer who oversees local‑law compliance, supports staff and students, and ensures policies are reviewed annually; recruitment practices include reference checks, credential verification, police background checks, and online vetting to protect pupils.
