Introduction

Montessori 21 Bilingual Schools is a network of ten Montessori campuses across France, plus a college with an adapted timetable. In each class two educators (one Francophone, one Anglophone) guide children, embedding English and French in learning. Classes are mixed-age, about 25–26 pupils, with AMI-trained staff, ensuring a bilingual immersion. From ages 2–6 the emphasis is on oral language; from age 6 written language arises; by age 9, English is used to teach subjects such as history and science. Each morning includes a 2.5–3 hour block of uninterrupted independent work, with Montessori materials organized by learning area. Progress is assessed twice a year through reviews covering French National Education program and emotional development. The network promotes autonomy, collaboration, wellbeing, and celebrates anglophone culture through traditions. Campuses include Aubervilliers-Villette, Paris-Jaurès, Nanterre, Courbevoie, Châtenay-Malabry, Marseille, Pau, Pantin Moderato, Plessis-Robinson, and Chaville. Extracurriculars include Afterschool programs, holiday camps, and Discovery Wednesdays for families.

Tuition fees by school level (monthly amounts and billing basis)
- Preschool / Préschool (age 2–3): Typical tiered monthly rates are: Standard EUR 850 / month (on a 12-month basis), Reduced EUR 750 / month, Support EUR 620 / month; part‑time (mi‑temps) rates are lower where offered.
- Maison des Enfants / Kindergarten cycle (age ~3–6): Typical tiered monthly rates are: Standard EUR 820 / month (billed over 12 months), Reduced EUR 705 / month (QF 1501–2500), Support EUR 590 / month (QF 1001–1500). Part‑time (mi‑temps) rates are indicated separately (for example, EUR 640/month standard mi‑temps).
- Primary / Petits Explorateurs (age ~6–11): The same three-tier model (Standard / Reduced / Support) is applied at most primary sites; published monthly figures for elementary-level places commonly match the Maison des Enfants banding (e.g., EUR 820 / 705 / 590 on a 12‑month basis at multiple campuses).
- Collège / Lower secondary (Collège 21): Tiered monthly rates (billed over 12 months) are: Standard EUR 910 / month, Reduced EUR 800 / month, Support EUR 690 / month, Solidarity tariff EUR 490 / month (for very low QF). How tuition is billed and payment terms
- Tuition is normally expressed as a monthly amount and spread over 12 months to smooth family payments. Several campuses explicitly state “/mois sur 12 mois.”
- Discounts: a 4% discount is applied for a single annual payment made by the stated deadline; a 3% discount is applied for payment in two instalments (deadlines vary by year and campus). Family/sibling discounts (typically 10% for siblings) and referral credits are also published.
- Periscolaire (after‑school, Wednesdays, holiday camps) is billed either as an annual subscription spread monthly (commonly over 10 months for some periscolaire packages) or as one‑off bookings; recurring periscolaire subscriptions are invoiced monthly. Examples and precise periscolaire formulas vary by site.
- For periscolaire subscriptions and recurring services the standard collection method is automatic direct debit; occasional bookings (single days or holiday camps) generally require prepayment by card at the time of booking. A limited acceptance of E‑CESU is noted in some cases; payments by cheque or cash are not accepted for these services. Exact debit dates and monthly collection timing are set in the billing rules (examples show the 1st direct‑debit run for September's service taken on the 5th of the following month).

Boarding / residential provision
- Boarding is not part of the offered services. All Montessori 21 sites operate as day schools with optional periscolaire (after‑school) and holiday care; no boarding fees apply.

Other costs and recurring fees
- School meals: where a catering service is provided, the typical meal fee is around EUR 120 per month for early‑years and primary sites; at the collège level a published catering contribution is EUR 130 per month. If families choose to supply a lunchbox, a smaller facility/cleaning contribution (commonly EUR 40 per month) is charged.
- Periscolaire example prices (illustrative examples from a campus periscolaire schedule): Mercredis découvertes (annual subscription) ~ EUR 193 / month (traiteur) for Montessori families; Afterschools subscriptions 1–4 evenings per week range by level (examples: EUR 50–175 / month depending on frequency at one campus). Holiday camp 5‑day packages are published per campus (examples: EUR 300–350 for a five‑day week depending on family status and meal option). These periscolaire amounts vary by site and by whether the family is within the Montessori 21 family rate or an external family rate.
- Annual or yearly pedagogical / material fees: some sites and levels charge an annual pedagogical fee to cover supplies, photocopies and digital access (for example, Collège pedagogical fees published as EUR 350 per year).
- Uniforms: no uniform fee or mandatory uniform programme is published; no campus‑wide uniform charge is listed. Where material costs exist they are described as pedagogical or supply fees rather than uniform fees.

Refunds and cancellation rules
- Services already started are due in full; absences are not refunded except in documented cases of hospitalisation. Periscolaire and holiday bookings that require prepayment are subject to the site‑specific cancellation and refund policy stated in the billing rules. Occasional bookings paid by card are required at the time of reservation.

Fee payment options and collection methods
- Recurring subscriptions and many billed services are collected by automatic direct debit (prélèvement automatique). Occasional bookings and holiday stages are prepaid by card. E‑CESU is accepted in limited cases for some services; payments by cheque and cash are not accepted for the periscolaire platform. Specific payment platform codes and portal procedures are used for family accounts and reservations.

Summary of the tiered pricing approach used across the network
- Montessori 21 applies a progressive, quotient‑based tariff scale (QF) across its schools: a Standard tariff (higher QF), a Reduced tariff (middle QF band), and a Support/Solidarity tariff (lower QF band). Certain sites and the Collège add a separate solidarity contribution of EUR 30 / month per family to finance scholarships. Tuition is billed monthly (most commonly over 12 months); admission/re‑registration fees and selected pedagogical or catering fees are charged in addition. &

Curriculum

Montessori 21 applies Montessori pedagogy with mixed-age classrooms of about 25–26 children per class and two full-time adults per class, at least one AMI-trained, including one francophone and one anglophone to support bilingualism. There is 2.5–3 hours of uninterrupted independent work every morning. Montessori materials are high-quality and organized by learning area (life, sensory, language, math, and culture for the 3–6 years; language, math, geometry, geography, history, biology, arts for the 6–12 years). Progress is assessed twice a year through a comprehensive review covering progress in the French national education program and the child's emotional development; the adolescence phase includes a Montessori collège with a complete personal, social, academic and artistic education.

Student Teacher Ratio

1:12–13 in mixed-age classrooms (two full-time teachers per class for 25–26 students).

Higher Education Progression

Pantin-Villette hosts a Montessori collège (middle school) offering education for adolescents 12–18; the collège provides a complete education including personal, social, academic and artistic development.

Wellbeing

Social and Emotional Learning (SEL)
