Academic and Intellectual

Extracurricular activities are integral to school life, with a daily period from 4:00 to 5:30 p.m. and Wednesday afternoons dedicated to clubs. In Elementary and Lower Secondary, clubs include Athletics, Basketball, Chess, Choir, Fine Arts, Football, Gymnastics, Judo, and the Musical Theatre Club. In Upper Secondary, diverse projects are guided by specialists, including After School Band, Charitable Actions, Climate Action Club, Fine Arts Workshop, Journalism Workshop, M.U.N Club, Personal Initiative Project, Science Workshop and UGSEL Judge Training.

Arts and Creative

Arts and creative activities are part of the after-school life. Clubs include Fine Arts, Choir, and Musical Theatre Club. In Upper Secondary, students can participate in After School Band, Fine Arts Workshop, and Journalism Workshop.

Cultural and Language

The school runs school trips and exchanges with 65 partner schools around the world, enabling more than 200 pupils to study abroad each year. Over the last 50 years Ombrosa has focused on bilingualism and plurilingualism, with language immersion and exchange programmes in five countries. Languages include French, English, German, Japanese, Spanish and Chinese.

Ombrosa International School is a private, secular, non-profit international bilingual school based on the banks of the Saône in Lyon, with a dedicated Caluire campus for Elementary, Lower Secondary and Upper Secondary alongside a Nursery. The school is partly under contract with the State and integrates the French national curriculum with the International Baccalaureate, coordinating bilingual access from nursery onward. From 3e (Year 10) upward, pupils may choose between the French General Baccalaureate and the Diploma Programme; Cambridge IGCSE is offered in some pathways, and Singapore mathematics supports mathematical development. The multilingual environment includes French, English, German, Japanese, Spanish and Chinese. Facilities include a restaurant, gym, courts, a dojo, five school bus lines, libraries, IT rooms, laboratories, a drama studio, a music room and a fine arts classroom, plus a park and private forest nearby.
