Wellbeing and Support

How students are nurtured, understood, and kept safe

Social and Emotional Learning (SEL)

SEK-Les Alpes offers a six-week module each year for Year 6 Primary to Year 4 ESO as part of the SEK programme. This module develops academic and personal competencies while strengthening students' connection with nature and the international SEK community. The programme supports autonomy, independence, self-esteem, resilience, and leadership. It fosters social and emotional relationships and a sense of belonging in natural settings. Progress is monitored through collaborative projects, self-assessments, and ongoing feedback.

Mental Wellbeing

Facilities are designed for well-being and personal development, including common spaces that promote well-being and a culture of respect where each student is accountable for their personal development and academic progress. The Learning Outside-In approach uses mountains and woodlands as learning laboratories, enabling exploration and growth. The programme supports autonomy, confidence, and a sense of belonging as part of the overall educational experience.

SEK International School Les Alpes is an English-language IB middle years programme (MYP) campus in the French Alps, serving students aged 12 to 16. The curriculum is harmonised with the IB MYP, delivered through six-week modules each year from MYP 1 to MYP 5. Over five years, students spend six weeks annually at SEK-Les Alpes with peers from SEK schools worldwide, promoting a global learning community. The campus features a limited-capacity boarding residence and integrated facilities set in an alpine environment at about 1,000 meters above sea level, near Megève and Albertville. All courses and activities are taught in English, with Learning Outside-In using mountains and woodlands as outdoor classrooms. The school is part of the SEK Education Group, with a long history and 10 campuses; it is the only private school in France recognized by the Spanish Ministry of Education. Ski lessons and insurance are included, with autonomous learning.
