Welcome to SIS Paris Ouest! Each year, SIS Paris Ouest welcomes new families, whether they come from all over the world or from the Île-de-France region, as well as bilingual students in English or German, with an international pathway. From the sixth grade onward we also welcome beginners in German. Whether you are English-speaking, German-speaking, an expatriate family returning to France, or a bicultural family with a strong connection to English or German, the SIS community is there to warmly welcome you. Our information meetings are the ideal opportunity to discover our school, prepare the application file and organize the entrance tests for your child. In addition, we offer informal virtual drop-ins (Drop-in), without an appointment, to answer all your questions about admissions.
SIS Paris Ouest offers bilingual education within the French education system, with Anglophone and Germanophone sections. The school operates across three host establishments in Sèvres, Boulogne-Billancourt and Saint-Cloud and serves over 1,300 students from kindergarten through lycée. It was founded in 1960 and remains an international section under the aegis of the French Ministry of National Education, employing about sixty teachers from English- or German-speaking countries. The curriculum combines the French national framework with Cambridge Secondary and Cambridge IGCSE, and the integrated programme is designed for bilingual students with mother-tongue-level language skills. Two disciplines—literature and history-geography—are taught in English or German, and the programme provides six hours of literacy, geography, history and science instruction. A Wednesday School offers morning workshops in English and German, and after-school language activities for younger students. Extracurriculars include Debating Club, Model United Nations and Parliament Européen, theatre productions (The Play/Die Bühne) and fundraisers and exchanges.
