SIS Paris Ouest is a nonprofit association governed under the French law of 1901. It is run by a conseil d'administration (board), and the administrative and teaching staff are employees of the association; its operation is funded by tuition fees. Tuition fees are reviewed and fixed by the General Assembly, typically held in November after the start of the school year. SIS Paris Ouest operates in seven public establishments across Boulogne-Billancourt, Saint-Cloud and Sèvres. The school is subject to French authorities' oversight and to the internal regulations of the public establishments where it is present, with oversight by primary inspectors, collège principals, and lycée heads. Annual family membership is €170 (or €220 for new families).
SIS Paris Ouest offers bilingual education within the French education system, with Anglophone and Germanophone sections. The school operates across three host establishments in Sèvres, Boulogne-Billancourt and Saint-Cloud and serves over 1,300 students from kindergarten through lycée. It was founded in 1960 and remains an international section under the aegis of the French Ministry of National Education, employing about sixty teachers from English- or German-speaking countries. The curriculum combines the French national framework with Cambridge Secondary and Cambridge IGCSE, and the integrated programme is designed for bilingual students with mother-tongue-level language skills. Two disciplines—literature and history-geography—are taught in English or German, and the programme provides six hours of literacy, geography, history and science instruction. A Wednesday School offers morning workshops in English and German, and after-school language activities for younger students. Extracurriculars include Debating Club, Model United Nations and Parliament Européen, theatre productions (The Play/Die Bühne) and fundraisers and exchanges.
