Established in 1954, The British School of Paris is the oldest and largest school in France based on the English National Curriculum. The educational programme is based on the National Curriculum for England and Wales, with a strong pastoral system and a broad programme of sport and the arts. The school operates as a British independent school in an international environment with high academic achievement. The school benefits from patronage from His Majesty's Ambassador to France. The British Royal family has supported the school on many occasions with visits from the late Princess of Wales, the Duchess of Wessex and the Duchess of Gloucester.
The BSP is a community-focused school where pupils, families and staff engage in a broad range of events and activities. The campus on the banks of the Seine provides an inspiring setting for learning and participation in sport and the arts. Guided tours and taster days are offered to prospective families to experience the BSP community firsthand. The BSP Community Shop provides opportunities for students and the community to volunteer, donate, and participate in regular pop-up sales that support the local community.
The BSP Community Association (BSPCA) is a non-profit parents' association. All parents and staff at BSP are automatically members. The BSPCA aims to promote community spirit by organising activities and social events for all to join and enjoy, and by raising funds for various charitable projects. The highlight events each year are the Christmas Fair in December and the Summer Fête in June. Please feel free to get in touch with the BSPCA Committee to learn more.
The British School of Paris Junior Campus is located in Croissy-sur-Seine, positioned on the banks of the River Seine. The school implements the National Curriculum for England, beginning with the Early Years Foundation Stage for children aged three. Instruction is in English, though all students receive daily French lessons tailored to their proficiency levels. Facilities include thirty-five classrooms, a specialized music suite, and a library with a collection exceeding 10,000 titles. A signature element of the education here is the 1:1 iPad program, where every pupil from Reception through Year 6 is provided with a digital tablet for classroom use. Students also participate in a House System, which organizes pupils into groups for internal events and collaborative activities. For older students, the school organizes annual residential trips to regions such as Normandy or the Ardèche to focus on outdoor activities and geographical studies. Physical education utilizes multi-purpose sports halls and all-weather pitches.
