The British School of Paris provides a strong pastoral system to support social and emotional development. Pupils of all ages, abilities and needs show exceptional development across all areas of learning. The educational programme is based on the English National Curriculum with a strong focus on personal development. ISI notes that the quality of pupils' personal development is excellent and that pupils are self-confident and feel supported in an atmosphere of mutual respect between teachers and pupils and between pupils themselves. The school promotes individuality and independence of mind while encouraging high moral standards, self-discipline and respect for different cultures. Although instruction is in English, French and other languages are heard at break times.
The BSP offers tailored programmes to identify and respond to every child's needs. There is educational support for the most able pupils. There is support for pupils with specific learning needs. Pupils of all ages and abilities develop across all areas of learning. The pastoral and welfare framework supports diverse needs.
A personalised English programme using EAL is available. Many students are already proficient in English. Support is provided within mainstream classes and in small group or one-to-one EAL sessions. The programme is closely planned with class teachers to ensure progress in English alongside the primary curriculum. The programme focuses on all four language skills—listening, speaking, reading and writing—and uses translanguaging where possible.
Pastoral Care – Student Welfare sets happiness and successful integration as priorities. The paramount aim is for pupils to be happy and to succeed, with full integration into school life. The British School of Paris Junior Campus is located in Croissy-sur-Seine, positioned on the banks of the River Seine. The school implements the National Curriculum for England, beginning with the Early Years Foundation Stage for children aged three. Instruction is in English, though all students receive daily French lessons tailored to their proficiency levels. Facilities include thirty-five classrooms, a specialized music suite, and a library with a collection exceeding 10,000 titles. A signature element of the education here is the 1:1 iPad program, where every pupil from Reception through Year 6 is provided with a digital tablet for classroom use. Students also participate in a House System, which organizes pupils into groups for internal events and collaborative activities. For older students, the school organizes annual residential trips to regions such as Normandy or the Ardèche to focus on outdoor activities and geographical studies. Physical education utilizes multi-purpose sports halls and all-weather pitches.
