The school teaches IT from Grade 1 using project-based learning. Specific IT lessons begin in Grade 5. IT topics are linked across subjects to support practical project work. Lego Robotics is used for programming, and 3D printing and CAD are introduced.
Art and Music are taught to all students throughout the year up to Grade 10. Students participate in additional activities such as the Elementary and Secondary School choirs, the band and a theatre club. Creating and rehearsing takes place in well-equipped art and music rooms, and in the accadium students perform in a space seating more than 200 spectators.
Regular excursions are part of school life and broaden horizons. From Grade 3 onwards, students go on overnight school trips to destinations such as Bad Breuberg, Kaub, Büdingen, Cologne, Camp Adventure Walsrode, Valencia, and Weimar. Students may attend taster lectures at accadis Hochschule in degree programmes conducted in German or English. Forest of hearts engages students in climate protection and reforestation with annual tree planting.
There is an extensive afternoon and holiday programme that can be booked flexibly. Cocurricular activities are offered to cultivate talents and interests beyond the core curriculum. Chewie, the school dog, accompanies classes and provides special highlights in the school day. Theatre, choir and band activities provide opportunities for performance and social engagement.
The Duke of Edinburgh's International Award is integrated into the Ethics curriculum, with Grade 9 students completing the four areas of Volunteering, Skills, Physical and Expedition. Grade 9 students undertake a two-week internship to gain insight into a work environment and develop professional behaviours. Forest of hearts involves planting trees and environmental learning as part of climate protection efforts.
The Duke of Edinburgh's International Award emphasizes teamwork and leadership development; the award is integrated into the school's Ethics curriculum. Sports and physical exercise are integral parts of education from Preschool to Secondary. PE classes and afternoon sports courses take place in the accadis ISB sports hall or outside facilities. Internationally trained teachers guarantee well-structured and high-quality Physical Education.
accadis International School Bad Homburg is a non-profit gGmbH operating at SÜDCAMPUS Bad Homburg in Germany, serving ages 2 to 18. The school offers curricula including German Curriculum, Cambridge IGCSE, the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme, the British Curriculum and EYFS for early years. In Grades 1–4 students study bilingually using the Hessian framework and Cambridge International Curriculum; Grades 5–10 follow a challenging international program with strong pastoral care; Grades 11–12 prepare for the IB Diploma, a university entrance qualification recognised in Germany and worldwide.
