The school offers an extensive after-school activities program from Primary through Secondary, with approximately 30 classes taking place after school each day. Weekend workshops complement the program. Older students can participate in Speech and Debate, Chess Club, programming or Model United Nations. These activities develop management and collaboration skills and provide social opportunities within the international BIS community.
The arts program provides a wide range of opportunities beyond music and visual arts. Students explore dance, drama and other creative pursuits. The program supports artistic expression and collaboration as part of school life. These opportunities complement the core curriculum.
The school cultivates multilingualism with an emphasis on English and German language acquisition. The community includes 70+ nationalities. Extracurricular offerings include Model United Nations, among other clubs, supporting international understanding and cross-cultural exchange.

Sport forms a major part of the BIS extracurricular programme with a wide variety of athletic offerings and competitions. Health and Well-Being: School counselors and a Health & Welfare Officer are on campus to support students' day-to-day health and emotional needs. After School Care is provided through ASA, with additional after-school activities to enrich student life.
Berlin International School (BIS) is a private, non-profit, non-denominational day school on Campus Lentzeallee in southwest Berlin. It serves around 996 students from over 70 nations, from kindergarten through the IB Diploma Programme, covering ages 3 to 18. BIS operates an IB World School curriculum with the Primary Years Programme (PYP) and the Diploma Programme (DP). In Grades 6–10, students follow a bilingual Middle Years Programme aligned with the Berlin Rahmenlehrplan and BIS's interpretation. Cambridge IGCSE is offered as part of the academic program. The school emphasizes inquiry-based learning and global perspectives, and promotes multilingualism with English and German language development, supported by a multilingual library and integrated Educational Technology. BIS is part of Stiftung Private-Kant-Schulen gGmbH and is fully accredited by the Council of International Schools and MSA-CESS.
