Social and Emotional Learning (SEL)

The school provides supervision for Primary and Middle School at all times and offers individual assistance and counselling for students and parents. The multilingual education focuses on the needs and challenges of students and parents, supporting social and emotional development. The PTA and the global community provide support, counselling, and opportunities to work and live together. The international community emphasizes intercultural understanding, respect, and collaboration, which supports social-emotional growth. The Cambridge and IB Diploma Programme curricula promote teamwork, communication, and personal development to help students navigate social and emotional challenges.

English as an Additional Language (EAL)

The language of instruction is English. The school offers a multilingual education that focuses on the needs and challenges of students and parents. It provides a unique approach to education in the English language tailored to each student and family. The programme supports multilingual development with a supportive environment, small group sizes, whole-day supervision, and access to many subjects. The English-language instruction and supportive environment help students grow, learn, and develop their multilingual abilities. The Cambridge and IB Diploma Programme options support international academic pathways.

Mental Wellbeing

The school provides supervision and counselling for students and parents, along with individual assistance to support wellbeing. There is a supportive environment characterized by small group sizes and whole-day supervision. The international community and PTA offer counselling and practical support to students and families. An emphasis on trust, care, and collaboration contributes to overall wellbeing. The Cambridge and IB DP programmes promote personal growth, resilience, and life skills beyond core academics. Students have access to a network of school and community resources for ongoing support.

Safeguarding

Sexual harassment, sexual abuse, and violence have no place in the organisation. Victims are encouraged to report so that action can be taken and appropriate support provided. If you prefer not to speak with CJD staff, you may contact Ellen Best, the independent Ombudsperson, who is bound by confidentiality. Reports are handled confidentially and can be made anonymously; information is forwarded to the organisation with consent. You will be informed about the progress and measures taken within three months of receipt of the report. The Ombudsperson operates as an external, independent channel, and additional safeguarding channels are available via the CJD complaints processes.
