Deutsch-Französisches Gymnasium Freiburg is a public, binational school operated by the City of Freiburg in cooperation with AEFE. The campus runs German and French sections within a shared bicultural curriculum. German classes cover grades 5–9 and French cover 6e–3e, with two classes per language and gradual integration of subjects. From grade 6, English is the second foreign language; from grade 8, Spanish, Italian and Latin are offered as electives. In the upper secondary (grades 10–12), tracks are L (Philosophy–Languages), ES (Economics and Social Sciences–Mathematics), SMP (Mathematics–Physics) and SBC (Chemistry–Biology). All tracks lead to the Deutsch-Französische Abitur, a joint German-French Abitur. Facilities include a library with study spaces and a Silentium room, OPAC terminals, and access to Europresse via Moodle. The canteen serves meals for €4.80 with online ordering. The school has a football field and a Ski/Snowboard mentoring program. Extracurricular offerings include arts, music, theatre, chess, gardening and more, plus exchange programs and after-school care.
