Extra-Curricular Activities

Clubs, activities, and opportunities to explore interests and passions

Academic and Intellectual

The school uses Deeper Learning as a core profile for the international elementary program, emphasizing project-based work in small groups. English instruction starts in Class 1, with afternoon sessions available as part of the program. CLIL-based teaching covers subjects such as geography, history, biology, BNT, music, and art, integrating language learning with core content. The International School offers IB Middle Years Programme (MYP) in grades 5–10 and IB Diploma Programme (DP) in grades 11–12, with instruction conducted exclusively in English.

Arts and Creative

Music and art are taught within CLIL-based subjects as part of the international curriculum, complemented by native-speaking teachers to support authentic language immersion. The curriculum includes artistic content such as music and art within bilingual classes. Visual and performing arts are integrated into the broader CLIL framework to foster creative expression.

Cultural and Language

The International School provides IB programmes with English-only instruction, including MYP in grades 5–10 and DP in grades 11–12. Exchange programs enhance international exposure, and a Chinese Club serves as a third-language option. Native-speaking teachers deliver immersive language experiences, including after-school extension of the language immersion.

Social and Hobbies

KiCo Kindercoaching guides children toward self-confidence and personality development, integrating talent development, resource-finding, and resilience promotion with coordinated communication among teachers, parents, and children. The after-school program extends these supports beyond regular classes. The school emphasizes social learning through structured projects and social-skills workshops, and a dedicated school social-work team is available daily from 08:00 to 16:30.

Community and Service

Future projects are a fixed component, featuring student companies that develop, produce, and market a product with guidance from Zukunftscoaches and industry partners, alongside multiple internships. Life-world orientation includes intensive corporate partnerships, an internship marketplace, and student enterprises. Education partnerships and scholarship opportunities are in place to support student involvement and access.

Leadership and Professional

Student leadership is fostered through student-run companies and Zukunftscoaches who mentor learners on real-world projects and entrepreneurship. Soft-skill courses and career-related guidance are integrated into the life-world orientation, with strong links to industry through internships and partnerships.

Lifestyle and Wellbeing

The school emphasizes a familial atmosphere with small class sizes and attentive staff. School social work provides daily support, crisis intervention, and ongoing counseling for students and families. Social learning includes projects and workshops that develop social skills, with active parental involvement and projects that encourage community engagement.
