Creativity, Activity, and Service (CAS) is an integral part of the IB curriculum for Grades 11 and 12, requiring about 150 hours across creative, physical, and service activities. Middle School students can participate in CAS through the Create, Act, Serve clubs. Model United Nations (MUN) conferences build leadership, global awareness, and diplomacy, with opportunities to collaborate with peers from around the world. The High School prepares students for the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme in Grades 11 and 12.
Visual Arts and Music are offered across ISA from Early Learning through Grade 12. Visual Arts provides a kiln-equipped room and hands-on experiences in drawing, painting, modeling, and textiles, with technology integration, gallery field trips, and opportunities to exhibit work; Visual Arts is also offered as an IB Diploma subject. Music education introduces singing and instrumental study from the Early Learning Center through Grade 6, with ensembles and regular performances, including concerts and events such as the Christmas Market and International Day celebrations.
Model United Nations develops intercultural understanding and global awareness through debate and diplomacy. ISA marks multicultural events such as International Day celebrations that bring the community together. The IB framework at ISA emphasizes intercultural understanding, and English is the primary language of instruction with EAL support for learners who need it.
Our Extra-Curricular Programme (ECAP) offers a range of before-school and after-school activities designed to inspire and challenge students, from creative arts to physical fitness, leadership, and academic support. ECAP runs on a trimester basis with new activities each term.
CAS is part of the Leadership & Service offerings for high school; Middle School can participate in CAS through Create, Act, Serve clubs. Model United Nations (MUN) fosters leadership, global awareness, and diplomacy, with opportunities to collaborate with peers from around the world. ISA is looking ahead to expand service opportunities through partnerships such as the Patrizia Foundation.
Students have leadership opportunities including the Voices of ISA student council, the yearbook committee, the Interact Club, and various themed events. Senior athletes mentor younger students, helping to foster a supportive, collaborative community. Leadership experiences are complemented by participation in MUN and CAS activities within the IB framework.
Wellbeing is a foundation for success, with holistic wellbeing education across stages from Primary through High School. Primary wellbeing is integrated through the PYP, and Grades 6–10 participate in regular wellbeing lessons. The Eco-School initiative, led by the Green Team, promotes sustainability, gardening, and reducing the school's carbon footprint, while Wellbeing Week highlights mental, emotional, and physical health; parent workshops support families.
International School Augsburg (ISA) is a K–12, English-speaking day school in Germany offering an IB-based education alongside Cambridge IGCSE in upper grades. The school serves students aged 3 to 18 and uses English as the language of instruction with EAL support. ISA began in 2005 with 65 local students and now welcomes more than 350 learners from 38 nationalities, reflecting a diverse community. The curriculum combines the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP), the IB Diploma Programme (DP), and Cambridge IGCSE in Grades 9–10, preparing students for global study worldwide. A Gersthofen campus opening in 2027–2028 will house 550 students on an 18,000 m² site featuring flexible learning pods, purpose-built laboratories, a double gym hall, and dedicated spaces for art, music, and performance. The campus aims for carbon-neutral operation with green roofs and solar panels. Extracurriculars include Art, Music, MUN, CAS, ECAP, and service partnerships, emphasizing wellbeing, sustainability, and intercultural understanding.
