The school places social-emotional learning on an equal footing with academic learning. It promotes empathy, independent learning, good deeds, constant effort, peer support, courage and commitment to others. The school strengthens community by building relationships between students of different ages. Students move from dependence to independence and participate actively in school life from an early age. The school operates a House System that supports academic development while recognizing social-emotional learning through house points and a student council. Mentoring is provided four times per year to set personal targets addressing academic, emotional and social development.
The school provides Special Educational Needs support by specialist teachers and an SEN Coordinator. The primary team includes Melina Oppermann as SEN Coordinator. Specialist teachers cover Special Educational Needs within the programme. The school provides targeted support to help students access the curriculum. The SEN Coordinator oversees SEN provision in the school.
The school teaches 80–90% of lessons in English by native-English-speaking teachers. Specialist teachers provide Immersion (EAL and DAZ) support. If a child joins after Grade 1 with no English or no German, immersion classes help them catch up. The immersion approach supports bilingual learning and international-mindedness.
The school has educators who listen to concerns and fears. Open conversations provide an additional level of support for children's development. There is a Mental Health and Wellbeing calendar with monthly topics for teachers and students. The school teaches relaxation techniques, and supports activities such as yoga and meditation. Monthly focus themes are integrated into joint projects.
