MSF offers two kinds of clubs: in-school clubs are student-driven under a staff mentor, and after-school clubs are more formal and run by teachers. The club programme includes a range of academic and intellectual activities, including Debate Club, MUN, Competitive Maths, Chess, and a school newspaper. The Duke of Edinburgh's International Award is offered in the Secondary School.
Clubs for arts and performance include Ballet & Dance, Three Octaves Choir, Luminous Ensemble, Film Club, Observational Drawing, 3D Design & Printing, and Band. These activities provide opportunities to create, perform, and explore visual arts and music within the in-school and after-school programme.
Language clubs are offered at beginner to fluent levels, including Mandarin Beginners and German Beginners, plus French Beginner and Turkish courses. These clubs support language learning with culturally focused activities.
Social and hobby clubs include Chess, D&D, Iris Book Bowl, Rainbow Alliance, Film Club and Newspaper, as well as Yoga. These clubs complement the school's formal programme and provide informal, interest‑driven groups.
The Duke of Edinburgh's International Award is introduced in the Secondary School, with four parts: Service, Skills, Fitness and Expedition. The Award fosters service to others, independence, leadership and social awareness, and is designed to support personal development.
Leadership development is embedded in the Duke of Edinburgh programme and in student‑driven clubs that require planning, collaboration and initiative. There is timetabled support for the DofE programme and opportunities to lead within clubs.
Team sports are offered through the MSF Foxes, competing in soccer, basketball, volleyball, cross-country, rugby and cheerleading across Autumn, Winter and Spring. The sports programme supports teamwork, fitness and school spirit.
Metropolitan School Frankfurt is an international school for ages 3 to 18 in Germany. The curriculum combines the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (PYP) in Early Years and Primary School with the Cambridge IGCSE (Grades 6–10) and the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (IB DP) for Grades 11–12, alongside an American Curriculum option. The Diploma Programme is built on six subject groups with a DP Core (Creativity, Activity, Service; Theory of Knowledge; Extended Essay). The DP is recognised for university entrance and provides transparency for German university admission requirements. In 2023 graduates averaged 37 points (out of 45), with a high of 41. Campus spans over 8,000 m2 of teaching space, including two libraries, science labs, arts spaces, and music rooms; it hosts the largest sports hall in Frankfurt, plus a rooftop sport field and a 700-seat theatre planned in 2024/25. Founded in 2007, MSF emphasizes a family-style community and wellbeing.
