Academic and Intellectual

The school is an IB World School authorised to offer the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme. Since 2012, students can obtain both the IB Diploma and the Abitur. The IB curriculum comprises six subject groups plus the DP core: Creativity, Activity, and Service (CAS); the Extended Essay (EE); and Theory of Knowledge (TOK). All subjects are studied concurrently across two years, exposing students to the humanities and the sciences.

Cultural and Language

The IB Diploma Programme includes Group 1 – German A Literature Higher Level; Group 2 – English Language & Literature Higher Level; Group 2 – English B Higher Level; Group 3 – History Standard Level; Global Politics Standard Level; Group 4 – Biology Higher Level; Physics Higher Level; Group 5 – Mathematics Analysis & Approaches Standard Level; Group 6 – Film Standard Level. As of 2024, students may also pursue a Course Candidate path by taking at least two IB subjects while completing Abitur.

Social and Hobbies

The CAS component is the heart of the IB programme and covers a wide range of activities such as sports, theatre, art, music and volunteering. CAS activities are flexible and include expeditions and service to the community. Participation in CAS is designed to be enjoyable, to support personal growth, and to involve some form of service to a community.

Community and Service

CAS activities are an integral part of the IB programme and include service to the community. Examples include coaching a football team, volunteering in an old people's home, and organising charity events. The programme emphasizes personal development, teamwork and responsible citizenship.

Leadership and Professional

As of 2024, the school offers a 'Course Candidate' option to complement the Abitur by taking at least two subjects in the IB Diploma Programme and, if applicable, core elements (CAS, TOK, EE). This allows students to tailor their diploma experience to their intended field of study, for example choosing Biology HL for Medicine. The approach also supports university applications by combining core and IB subjects.

Lifestyle and Wellbeing

The CAS framework includes physical and creative activities such as sports, theatre, art and expeditions, supporting physical fitness and well‑being. It also fosters mindfulness, teamwork and social engagement by offering opportunities to volunteer and work with communities. The school views these activities as essential to personal growth and balance during the two-year Diploma Programme.
