A multitude of clubs and activities are conducted after school and during weekends during each semester. Activities include MUN Club, Debating Society, Robotics, and Science Fair Club. Other student‑led groups such as Readers' and Writers' Club support inquiry and communication. The IB Diploma Programme and CAS framework underpin these activities, providing opportunities to develop research, critical thinking and collaboration skills.
Students' talents in music, drama, singing and dance are enhanced and displayed each year through various opportunities and events. The TIS Annual Play showcases productions such as The Lion King and Beauty and the Beast. A range of performing arts groups exists, including School Choir, Regimental Band, Pop Band, and Strings.
Model United Nations and Debating Society promote cultural exchange and global awareness. The students' talents in music, drama, and performance are showcased through annual plays and performances. Performing arts activities, including choir, bands and strings, contribute to the school's cultural life.

Service-learning is a core component of the Diploma Programme and involves a wide range of experiences that deepen understanding and civic responsibility. Examples of service-learning programs include Kofi and Ama Foundation partnership; Akorlikope TIS adopted community service trips; Educom program; Bole Whole for Rural Areas – Water for Life; Liter of Light Ghana; TIS Red Cross Society; Art Therapy; Literacy Project; Outreaches; Hospital outreaches; Awareness; Recycling; GardenHolics; CureAid; Junior Community Service; Debating Society; Soccer Outreach; Photography Club; Feeding Program; Kitchen Soup; Annual School Play; School Magazine Club.
Students develop leadership through the Prefect system (Grade 11/12), SRC (3-6 and 7-12), class leaders and representatives (7-12), Inter‑Colour leaders, Model United Nations, service learning, CAS, Club Executives and leadership in sporting and cultural activities.
Tema International School is the founding member of the Tema International School Sports Association (TISSA), which offers interschool competitions in athletics; swimming; volleyball; tennis; table tennis; soccer; handball; and basketball. Students have the opportunity to represent their house colour in competitions such as handball; swimming; badminton; tennis; soccer; volleyball; basketball and athletics. Sport is a pillar that promotes teamwork, personal bests and the resilience to cope with losses and victories.
Tema International School is a private, coeducational P-12 IB World School in Tema, Ghana, offering the IB continuum: PYP for ages 3–12 on the Primary Campus, MYP for ages 11–16 on the main campus, and the Diploma Programme for ages 16–19, with CAS, TOK and the Extended Essay. Founded in 2003, the school aims to develop world-class citizens through inquiry, service learning and intercultural understanding. The Primary Campus houses open flexible learning spaces, while the main campus provides science, arts, music and information technology facilities, dedicated IT labs and a campus-wide wifi network, plus a project centre with a media room, dance room and theatre studios.
