Facilities Overview

Tema International School is a private coeducational P-12 school with a main campus and a separate Primary School Campus located about two kilometres north of Tema. The main campus offers secondary boarding opportunities and houses facilities for science, arts, music and information technology, connected by a campus-wide wifi network and dedicated IT labs with fibre internet. The school includes a project centre with a media room, a dance room and an ultra-modern kitchen, a CAS-SA office, and music, art and theatre studios, together with a multi-purpose dining hall. The learning environment is enhanced by a green infrastructure including biogas-powered science labs, solar power for lighting, a borehole with filtration, and a composting program run by GardenHolics. The Primary Campus provides Stage 1 facilities with open flexible learning areas for preschool classes.

Sports Facilities

The sports complex includes a full-size football pitch, basketball, volleyball, tennis and squash courts, a swimming pool and a gym. Tema International School participates in interschool competitions via Tema International Schools Sports Association (TISSA) and is a member of the International Schools Sports Association of Ghana (ISSAG), with events in athletics, swimming, volleyball, tennis, table tennis, soccer, badminton and basketball.

Academic Facilities

IT infrastructure includes computers and a 150mb dedicated fibre optics internet connection plus campus-wide free wifi. IT labs provide access to online resources, digital textbooks and a learning management system. White boards and projectors are used in classrooms, and there are dedicated facilities for music, art and theatre within the project centre. The Primary Campus features open flexible learning areas for early years, and the school supports IB programmes (PYP, MYP and DP) across its campuses.

Extra-Curricular Activities

Service-learning is a core component of the school's four-pillar framework (Academics, Culture, Sports and Service). Inter-Colour Houses—Red Kigelia, Green Wisteria, Blue Cedar and Yellow Outeniqua—shape a busy calendar of events. Activities include singing competitions, dance battles, spelling bees, current affairs quizzes, swimming championships, athletics carnival, maths exhibitions and chess tournaments. The campus provides music, art and theatre studios for arts participation, and sustainability and community service programs such as GardenHolics composting and Liter for Light projects (including lighting for Akorlikope).
