ELCHK Lutheran Academy was founded by the Evangelical Lutheran Church of Hong Kong (ELCHK) and officially opened in September 2010. The school’s groundbreaking ceremony took place on 15 May 2009, marking the beginning of its establishment as part of ELCHK’s education mission. Since its founding, the Academy has developed a through-train structure offering Primary to Senior School education under the Direct Subsidy Scheme (DSS). The school continues to operate under ELCHK’s governance, maintaining its commitment to faith-based education and holistic student development.
The school community at ELCHK Lutheran Academy is centered around strong partnerships among students, teachers, and families. Annual community events such as fun fairs, cultural celebrations, and charity drives foster school spirit and collaboration. The school also promotes student engagement through its House System, co-curricular activities, and service-learning opportunities. These initiatives encourage active participation, teamwork, and a sense of belonging within the wider school community.
The Lutheran Association of Parents and Teachers (LAPT) was established in November 2012 to strengthen communication between families and the school. The LAPT organizes a variety of events throughout the year, including fun fairs, day tours, coffee mornings, parent talks, cooking workshops, and second-hand uniform sales. It also supports school-wide initiatives such as cultural festivals and student performances. Membership is open to all parents and teachers, with an annual parent membership fee of HKD 100. Through these activities, the LAPT plays an active role in fostering mutual support and engagement within the school community.
