Kingston International Kindergarten is a bilingual environment for children aged 3 to 5, with English and Putonghua as languages of instruction. It forms part of Kingston International School, which has three campuses: Kindergarten/Children Centre for ages 1–5, a Lower Primary campus, and an Upper Primary campus. The programme is IB-PYP, delivered through four concept-driven bilingual inquiry units. The facilities include a soft play room, outdoor playgrounds, a library, and a dramatic play room, with music sessions and PE classes integrated into the curriculum. Daily English and Putonghua circle times are part of the day, and snacks are provided. The Kindergarten/Children Centre is located at 12-14 Cumberland Road, Kowloon Tong, Kowloon, Hong Kong.
The PE program is delivered by a specialist PE teacher. The curriculum includes health-related fitness, movement, and team sports such as football, basketball, hockey, and volleyball. Students have opportunities for physical play during snack and lunch times. Kingston holds an annual Sports Day that involves students from all year levels. The outdoor playgrounds provide space for active play as part of the curriculum.
Kingston International Kindergarten offers an IB-PYP bilingual programme (English/Putonghua) for students aged 1 to 11, with the Kindergarten (ages 3–5) as part of the Early Years component. Each class includes one native-speaking Putonghua teacher and one native-speaking English teacher, with daily immersion in both languages. The Primary Years Programme framework is delivered through four concept-driven bilingual inquiry units. The curriculum covers core subject areas such as language, mathematics, social studies, science, arts, and personal, social, and physical education, and is supported by facilities such as a library and drama spaces. Kingston International School is the first school in Hong Kong authorized to offer the IBPYP.
Kingston offers a range of clubs at Kingston Primary, including the Kingston Student Representative Council, Kingston Choir, Kingston Orchestra, Kingston Newspaper Club, Kingston Environmental Group (KEG), English Battle of the Books Team, Chinese Debate Team, and Chinese Battle of the Books Team. The school also runs a Summer Programme with a Kindergarten Summer School and a Pre-School Adaptation Class. Extracurricular activities are integrated with the IBPYP framework and provide opportunities for leadership, arts, environmental projects, and competitions.
Kingston International Kindergarten in Kowloon Tong offers a bilingual English–Putonghua Early Years programme that forms the first stage of Kingston’s IB Primary Years Programme pathway (ages 3–5, with a 2-year-old class at the Children Centre). Daily learning includes English and Putonghua circle time, specialist music, outdoor play, and creative activities. A distinctive feature is Kingston’s school-wide commitment to student-run clubs and community action—from Choir and Orchestra to the Kingston Environmental Group—offering authentic opportunities even before Primary. The kindergarten campus sits at 12–14 Cumberland Road in Kowloon Tong, close to Kingston’s Primary campuses on Waterloo Road; parents arrange transport directly with bus companies, as the school does not operate a bus service.
