English and Putonghua are the two languages taught across the Early Years and Primary stages, with a developmentally appropriate curriculum that supports bilingual, immersed learning for children aged 3 to 5 in Kindergarten, and from Playgroup through Pre-nursery classes in the Children Centre.
Kingston International Kindergarten operates a bilingual English and Putonghua (Mandarin) learning environment using traditional Chinese characters. Kingston International School is the first school in Hong Kong authorized to offer the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (IBPYP) and offers through-train education from Playgroup through Secondary. The school is a partner school of ICHK Secondary.
The Kindergarten and related early years programs provide immersion in both English and Putonghua, with daily circle times in each language and a bilingual inquiry-based approach.
Kingston International Kindergarten in Kowloon Tong offers a bilingual English–Putonghua Early Years programme that forms the first stage of Kingston’s IB Primary Years Programme pathway (ages 3–5, with a 2-year-old class at the Children Centre). Daily learning includes English and Putonghua circle time, specialist music, outdoor play, and creative activities. A distinctive feature is Kingston’s school-wide commitment to student-run clubs and community action—from Choir and Orchestra to the Kingston Environmental Group—offering authentic opportunities even before Primary. The kindergarten campus sits at 12–14 Cumberland Road in Kowloon Tong, close to Kingston’s Primary campuses on Waterloo Road; parents arrange transport directly with bus companies, as the school does not operate a bus service.
