Kingston International School began in 1996 as the Kingston Children’s Centre, offering bilingual English–Putonghua early years education. The school expanded in 2001 to include a Primary section, allowing children to continue their bilingual learning journey within the same community. In 2004, Kingston became the first school in Hong Kong to be authorised to offer the International Baccalaureate Primary Years Programme (IB PYP). Over time, it established three campuses in the Kowloon Tong area, with dedicated facilities for the Children’s Centre, Kindergarten, and Primary levels.
Community events include the annual Open House and cultural activities such as a Chinese New Year Flower Market concert for children and families. The school also hosts special events like African drumming sessions (Drum Jam) to celebrate music and culture.
There is not detailed information about a dedicated PTA for the kindergarten (or the parent-teacher body) on the school website.
Kingston International Kindergarten in Kowloon Tong offers a bilingual English–Putonghua Early Years programme that forms the first stage of Kingston’s IB Primary Years Programme pathway (ages 3–5, with a 2-year-old class at the Children Centre). Daily learning includes English and Putonghua circle time, specialist music, outdoor play, and creative activities. A distinctive feature is Kingston’s school-wide commitment to student-run clubs and community action—from Choir and Orchestra to the Kingston Environmental Group—offering authentic opportunities even before Primary. The kindergarten campus sits at 12–14 Cumberland Road in Kowloon Tong, close to Kingston’s Primary campuses on Waterloo Road; parents arrange transport directly with bus companies, as the school does not operate a bus service.
