English is the medium of instruction; students may inquire in the mother tongue and become multilingual. The languages offered include Hindi and English from pre-primary to primary; at the middle level there is a three-language policy with English and Hindi compulsory and Sanskrit, Japanese, or French as options; at the secondary level there is a two-language policy with English compulsory and a second language chosen from Hindi, Sanskrit, or French, with Japanese studied as an additional language. French was reintroduced as an optional subject from 2017. Foreign languages offered include French, Japanese, and German (German presently has no uptake). In the IB Diploma Programme, Group 1 languages are English A and Hindi A; Group 2 languages include English B and French Ab Initio, with Hindi HL/SL offered as needed.
While English is the language of instruction, the policy allows students to inquire in the mother tongue and aspire to become multilingual.
