Wellbeing and Support

How students are nurtured, understood, and kept safe

Social and Emotional Learning (SEL)

The Kindergarten program is guided on the EYLF (Early Years Learning Framework) of the WA curriculum. The EYLF includes five learning development areas: Identity, Connecting & Contributing, Wellbeing, Learning, and Communication. Wellbeing is a core part of the EYLF and supports students' social and emotional development within play-based learning. The WA curriculum framework helps students transition to Primary to Year 10 education through the Kindergarten Curriculum Guidelines from SCSA. The program emphasizes building identity, relationships, inclusion, and communication in a multicultural classroom environment.

Special Educational Needs (SEN)

The school values each child, regardless of race, gender, religion, or learning ability, to learn together in the same age-appropriate classroom. They are given equal opportunities and access to the same quality of education through differentiated teaching, learning, and assessment. The approach supports inclusion within standard classrooms and differentiates instruction to meet diverse learning needs. The emphasis on inclusion reflects the school's mission to foster equality, justice, and tolerance. This inclusive learning environment is a central feature of the educational model.

Mental Wellbeing

The Kindergarten program includes Wellbeing as one of the five learning development areas in the EYLF. Wellbeing is addressed through play-based learning and the WA curriculum framework. The program's focus on Wellbeing supports students in developing emotional regulation and resilience within daily learning. The school's inclusive, multicultural classroom environment contributes to emotional safety and belonging. The curriculum emphasizes social connection through group activities and collaborative learning.
