Admissions

How to apply, waitlist information, and financial support

Admissions Process

1. Application Procedure. Applications and enrollments are accepted throughout the year, subject to availability. The school year runs from August to June and is divided into four terms. Early application is encouraged, particularly before July 1 for the August intake, to ensure sufficient processing time. Applications are accepted on a first-come, first-served basis and are evaluated on factors including completed years of schooling, recent report cards and recommendations, academic assessments (Speed Dial4 for Preschool and Kindy; MAP assessments for Math and Reading; and language/writing assessments for higher grades), interviews with applicants and parents, and learning needs. 2. Admission Policies. Admissions are on a first-come, first-served basis, and the transfer of the application fee is used to save a seat. Decisions are made only after the process is complete and all documentation is received. The school admits students who can benefit from the education offered, and a child is admitted only if BIS can offer a program that meets their individual needs, which is discussed with parents at the initial stages of the application. 3. Entrance Age. Applicants must reach the appropriate age by September 1. The grade-age table lists: Preschool 3 by Sept 1; Preschool 4 by Sept 1; Kindergarten by age 5; Grade 1 by age 6; Grade 2 by age 7; Grade 3 by age 8; Grade 4 by age 9; Grade 5 by age 10; Grade 6 by age 11; Grade 7 by age 12; Grade 8 by age 13; Grade 9 by age 14; Grade 10 by age 15; Grade 11 by age 16; Grade 12 by age 17. 4. How to Apply. Steps are: (1) Visit the Admissions Guideline page, (2) Complete the online application form, (3) Submit a non-refundable Application Fee of IDR 2,500,000 per student, (4) Undergo Admissions Assessments (Speed Dial4 for Preschool/Kindy; MAP assessment for Math and Reading; and MAP assessments covering Math, Reading, Language and Writing for higher grades), (5) Upon successful application, pay a Registration Fee of IDR 15,000,000 to confirm enrollment. 5. Documents and Visa. Documents to submit via Open Apply include the Online Application Form, Student Health Form, Vaccination Records, Official Recent School Records, Confidential Teacher Recommendations, Copy of Student Passport, Copy of Parents' Passports, Copy of Student Birth Certificate, and, for Indonesian citizens, a Copy of Kartu Keluarga (KK). For a student visa (KITAS), BIS will sponsor and assist the process; BIS cannot sponsor a parent's visa. The listed documents are to be submitted via Open Apply.
