Beacon Academy started in a small warehouse. It has grown into a diverse international school with a community of more than 550 students and 100 faculty members representing 25 nationalities.

FoBA (Friends of Beacon Academy) originated with Beacon's warm, dedicated parent community and works with the school to bridge the various circles within Beacon. Fundraising is a focal point to subsidize student events and competitions. FoBA organizes gatherings such as the FoBA family picnic and Trivia Night to welcome new parents, staff, and students and to celebrate Beacon. The group fosters connection within the Beacon community.
Beacon Academy is an international school in North Jakarta serving students 3 to 18. The curriculum blends the IB Primary Years Programme, Cambridge Lower Secondary, IGCSE, and the IB Diploma Programme, preparing students for tertiary study. Instruction is in English, with Bahasa and Mandarin introduced in preschool and additional options in Bahasa Indonesia, Mandarin, French, Spanish, and Hindi as students advance. The 2.3-hectare campus hosts a Science Lab, libraries, a Maker Space & Robotics area, and performing arts facilities including the Beacon Theatre, seating over 500. On-site sports facilities include a full-size football pitch, a half Olympic-size pool, an indoor gym, tennis courts, and a golf putting range.
