The school is the first Christian IB Continuum School in East Java. The Buah Hati Education Foundation opened its first Buah Hati School in 1990. Cita Hati was established in Manyar, Surabaya in 1994. In 2005, Cita Hati became the first International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme school in East Indonesia for grades 11-12. The Samarinda campus opened in 2019, expanding its reach to East Kalimantan.

Cita Hati Christian School Samarinda is a private Christian day school in East Kalimantan, Indonesia, offering Cambridge Primary and Cambridge Secondary curricula alongside the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme (DP) for grades 11–12.
