Global Jaya School was established in 1995 on a 6.6-hectare site in Bintaro Jaya Sektor IX, starting with a three-story building for Administration and Primary School. It was inaugurated on December 16, 1995 by the Ministry of Education and began with the Indonesian National Curriculum and an active learning approach. In 2001, Global Jaya received international accreditation from the Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC), and in 2002–2003 the school implemented the International Baccalaureate Primary Programme and Middle Years Programme. Facilities were upgraded across the decade; in 2003–2004 a library, Performing Arts Center, gymnasium and additional classrooms were added, and in 2004–2005 IB authorization and campus-wide WIFI were established. It was renamed from Sekolah Global Jaya to Global Jaya International School in 2008–2009 and back to Global Jaya School in 2014–2015; an Alumni Association was established in 2022–2023 and a FIFA-standard soccer field upgrade occurred in 2024–2025.
Global Jaya's culture and sense of community reflect Unity in Diversity. A strong sense of family and community is highly valued. The school has a well-developed and active Parents Association and a newly founded Alumni Association that partner with the school on activities throughout the academic year. Partnerships have produced events such as Book Week, Halloween, Family Fun Day, and Teacher and Staff Appreciation. Indonesian national holidays are celebrated and activities around five major religions are embedded in the calendar. The school has about 670 students from Kindergarten to Year 12; about 85% are Indonesian (including dual nationals) and 15% hold foreign passports; 29 expatriate teachers come from 11 countries, and the expatriate group represents 16 nationalities, with a total faculty of 110.

Global Jaya School is an IB World School in Indonesia offering the IB Continuum: Primary Years Programme (PYP) for ages 4–12, Middle Years Programme (MYP) for ages 11–16, and Diploma Programme (DP) for ages 16–19, alongside the Indonesian National Curriculum. The school serves students aged 4 to 18 on a 6.6-hectare campus in Bintaro Jaya Sektor IX. It opened in 1995, gained WASC accreditation in 2001, and introduced the IB programmes in 2002–2003. Facilities include five science laboratories, a fully equipped library with over 32,000 books and digital resources, and a Performing and Visual Arts Center with a Theatre Building. The campus also features a gymnasium, a swimming pool, a FIFA‑approved soccer field, safe playgrounds, and dedicated arts spaces. English instruction is emphasised in secondary, Indonesian is the host language, and a PYP dual-language strand exists with Indonesian and expatriate teachers; from Year 9, students may study Mandarin, Spanish, Korean or Indonesian as a third language. The Diploma Programme requires Extended Essay, Theory of Knowledge, and Creativity, Activity and Service. Current enrollment is around 670 students with about 29 expatriate teachers; a FIFA-standard field upgrade occurred in 2024–2025.
