JIS offers a broad range of after-school activities through JIS Academy & Community Sports, including academic, arts, and STEM classes such as Engineering for Kids, Legos, robotics, coding, magic, chess, dance, photography, and music. Most student activities are currently open to JIS students only. These programs emphasize hands-on and minds-on learning to develop creativity, creative thinking, and problem-solving skills while building a positive community.

JIS participates in IASAS, an association of six schools that promotes international exchange in athletics, arts, and service. IASAS events include competitions and cultural exchanges hosted by member schools, giving students opportunities to travel, compete, and represent JIS. IASAS fosters cross-cultural exchange and international connections through sport, arts, and service.
After-School Activities (ASA) promote socialization, self-confidence, life skills, teamwork, strategic thinking, service, and fun. ASA activities are age-appropriate and can include recreational sports leagues or learning new instruments, among others. These programs provide opportunities to participate in clubs and activities outside the standard curriculum.
Service learning and environmental stewardship are built into the curriculum for all students from Early Years to High School. JIS partners with several organizations to help create positive change. Service clubs and partnerships with community organizations are a key part of JIS's service initiatives.
Student leadership opportunities grow formally with age; students are encouraged to participate in activities and may run for leadership roles such as OSIS in High School, or lead events at the Bali Stage in Middle School. The school emphasizes that students should learn how to be future leaders through these opportunities. Leadership is fostered through campus events and student government roles as students advance.
JIS Academy Sports offers soccer, basketball, swimming, gymnastics, badminton, baseball, softball, tennis, rugby, and flag football after school and on weekends. Coaches emphasize physical literacy, sport-specific skills, and sportspersonship through JIS values of respect, responsibility, integrity, compassion, perseverance, balance, and fun. The overarching mission states that after-school activities promote the physical, intellectual, and social-emotional development of every child.
Jakarta Intercultural School (JIS) operates on three garden‑like campuses in South Jakarta and serves more than 2,500 students from over 70 nationalities. The school offers the International Baccalaureate across Elementary, Middle, and High School, with the IB Diploma Programme in High School and Advanced Placement courses available as part of the IB/AP pathway. Indonesian Ministry of Education rules apply to JIS as an Indonesian school. Extensive sport facilities include pools, gyms, tennis courts, fields, a golf driving range, and an on‑site health center.
