Parent Experience

Community, involvement and what it's like to be a parent at this school

History

MIS opened its modern campus on October 18, 2022, in central Kuta, Lombok, on a 10,000 square meter site. The campus was created by private owners who collaborated with a school specialist architect and followed EDGE environmental building practices to design a progressive, sustainable campus. It includes modern classrooms, a bamboo Manta Hall, and laboratories for arts, computer, and science, with Sasak architectural design at the security gate. The owners used the architecture as a teaching tool, integrating ergonomic features, geometry, light and shadow, texture, and nature to support holistic learning.

Community

MIS has a very diverse community drawn from cultures around the world. The MIS community includes local business owners, developers, and crypto traders among others, reflecting Lombok's cosmopolitan south coast. The local Lombok community is among the friendliest in the world, with smiling, laid-back hospitality that makes daily life here welcoming for students and families.

Parent-Teacher Association

The Parent Support Group (PSG) is composed of all MIS parents and teachers, and membership is automatic. The PSG exists to foster parent/school cooperation, represent the parent body within the MIS community, and actively assist with charitable fundraising and MIS projects. It also strives to support the school with initiatives inside and outside MIS and to bring additional joy to your child's school experience. It provides a platform for parents and teachers to engage with MIS, collaborate on events, and contribute to community activities. The PSG operates as a collaborative voice for families and helps coordinate engagement between parents and the school.
