The school is owned by Yayasan Perkembangan Anak Indonesia (YPAI). YPAI was established in 1994 by five mothers with a dream of providing transformative education, and the owners were the first teachers who built MIS from a small house to multiple branches.
Mentari Intercultural School Jakarta (MIS Jakarta) is an IB World School in Indonesia offering the International Baccalaureate programmes PYP, MYP and DP alongside the Indonesian National Curriculum. The Elementary programme combines IB PYP with national standards; Junior High blends IB MYP with the National Curriculum; Senior High delivers the IB Diploma Programme alongside the National Curriculum.
