Uniform Requirement

The NJIS uniform consists of dark blue shorts or pants, a skort or skirt, and a button-down batik shirt or white shirt, with House shirts worn on Fridays. The uniform shirt buttons must be fastened, a white T-shirt may be worn underneath, and shoes must be worn at all times with no open-toed sandals. The PE uniform is a blue NJIS athletics shirt with black athletic shorts, and team sport uniforms are purchased at cost for inter-school play.

Food Options

There is a cafeteria on campus. The cafeteria is listed among NJIS facilities.

House System

Students are assigned to one of four Houses: Rhinoceros (red), Lizard (blue), Garuda (green), and Orangutan (yellow). These Houses are the basis for sporting and cultural competitions, and students are required to buy a House Shirt as part of the uniform.

Governance and Ownership

NJIS is governed by the Board of Trustees of Yayasan Bina Siswa Agung Podomoro and operates under the auspices of Agung Podomoro Group. The Board is responsible for the school's fiscal well-being and overall progress and maintains a good relationship with the Indonesian Ministry of Education. NJIS is a non-sectarian, politically neutral entity.

North Jakarta Intercultural School (NJIS) is an IB Continuum school for ages 2 to 18, offering the Primary Years Programme (PYP), Middle Years Programme (MYP) and Diploma Programme (DP). It is WASC accredited and provides instruction in English and Indonesian. The Diploma Programme is a two-year, university-preparatory path with six subjects from Groups 1–6, plus a Core including the Extended Essay, Theory of Knowledge and Creativity, Activity and Service, supported by university counselling from MYP3 through DP2. NJIS delivers the IB framework with an emphasis on intercultural awareness, inquiry and the Learner Profile. The campus covers 1.5 hectares in Kelapa Gading and includes a Performing Arts Center with an 8×10 metre LED screen, an Indoor Sports Gym, a 6-lane semi-Olympic pool, a Fitness Center, a library, Computer Lab, Science Labs, a STEM/Design Space, and Art Room and Music Practice Rooms. After-school activities include Model United Nations, Art, STEM and sports.
