Language is a core subject area within NJIS's IB curriculum. Communicators understand and express ideas and information confidently and creatively in more than one language. The curriculum emphasizes multilingual communication across the Primary Years Programme and Middle Years Programme, reflecting the IB framework's emphasis on language learning and intercultural understanding.
North Jakarta Intercultural School (NJIS) is an IB Continuum school for ages 2 to 18, offering the Primary Years Programme (PYP), Middle Years Programme (MYP) and Diploma Programme (DP). It is WASC accredited and provides instruction in English and Indonesian. The Diploma Programme is a two-year, university-preparatory path with six subjects from Groups 1–6, plus a Core including the Extended Essay, Theory of Knowledge and Creativity, Activity and Service, supported by university counselling from MYP3 through DP2. NJIS delivers the IB framework with an emphasis on intercultural awareness, inquiry and the Learner Profile. The campus covers 1.5 hectares in Kelapa Gading and includes a Performing Arts Center with an 8×10 metre LED screen, an Indoor Sports Gym, a 6-lane semi-Olympic pool, a Fitness Center, a library, Computer Lab, Science Labs, a STEM/Design Space, and Art Room and Music Practice Rooms. After-school activities include Model United Nations, Art, STEM and sports.
