Let the school know you're thinking of applying — they can share their prerequisites and help you through the process.
It's best to ask — circumstances can change at any time.
1. Admission process: The school is academically selective. All children must pass a period of observation and assessment (early years) or an entrance assessment. The entrance assessment includes an English language, Mathematics, and Science evaluation plus a personal interview. The school may require students to attend the class for a day or more to monitor the child's behavior and academic level.
2. Class division and placement: The school admits children from age 2 into Playgroup up to Grade 10 at age 15. Ages/grades are: Playgroup – 2 years old; Pre-Kindergarten – 3; Kindergarten 1 – 4; Kindergarten 2 – 5; Grade 1 – 6; Grade 7 – 12; Grade 10 – 15. Students should reach the age before October 1 of the year being applied. They should possess the proper leaving certificate from the previous school year plus major examination results where applicable. Students coming from the British School Grading system (13 years) will be placed according to the conversion in the school's system.
3. Curriculum and language: English is the language of instruction and a Mandarin Curriculum is offered designed with Beijing Language and Cultural University. The academy delivers Cambridge for Primary and Secondary, IEYC for Early Learning, and IB option for Grade 11 and Grade 12. The school operates seven campuses located in Medan, Jakarta, BSD, Sentul, and Surabaya.
4. Fees and inclusions: Tuition fees vary by grade and campus and by curriculum (Cambridge vs IB). There is no building or development fee. The annual tuition ranges from IDR 25,000,000 in Early Learning to IDR 187,000,000 in Grade 12. This excludes the one-time registration fee for new students, books and resources, learning resource fee, uniforms, field trips, Chromebooks and laptops, external exams, ESL, courses, and other services.
5. How to apply: Provide the required documents (copies of school records for the past two years, birth certificate, copies of ID for students and parents, and, for international students, copies of KITAS). Fill out the online registration form. Once the application is reviewed and approved, a welcome is issued to the family. For more information or to schedule a consultation, use the online form on the admissions page.
Located in Sentul as part of Sampoerna Academy, Sentul offers an international program that blends local requirements with qualifications. The school uses the IEYC for Playgroup and Kindergarten, while Cambridge Assessment International Education guides primary and secondary years, with Cambridge A Levels or the IB Diploma Programme available for Grade 12. Students sit IGCSE in Grade 10 and graduate with the Indonesian High School Diploma (Ijasah). English is the instructional language, with Indonesian and Chinese also valued. The curriculum weaves STEAM, project-based learning, and character development to prepare students for tertiary education in Indonesia and abroad. Facilities include technology-enabled classrooms, a spacious library, a science laboratory, dedicated arts and music studios, and comprehensive sports spaces, plus an ELC for early years. Extracurriculars span Artful Thinking, Sastra Science Club, the World Scholar's Cup, and performing arts such as The Voice, plus wellbeing and sport clubs for a holistic student experience daily.
