Let the school know you're thinking of applying — they can share their prerequisites and help you through the process.
It's best to ask — circumstances can change at any time.
1. Admission Process: We are academically selective and all children must pass a period of observation and assessment (early years) or an entrance assessment. The entrance assessment features an assessment in English language, Mathematics, and Science along with a personal interview. The school may require students to attend the class for a day or days to monitor the child's behavior and academic level.
2. Class Division and Age Placement: We admit children from the year they turn 2 into Playgroup to the age of 15 into Grade 10; other grades and ages require more consideration and communication between school and parents. Students must reach the age before October 1 of the year of application, and must possess the proper leaving certificate from the previous school year along with major examination results where applicable. Students coming from the British grading system (13 years) will be placed according to conversion.
3. Curriculum and Language: Sampoerna Academy uses English as the language of instruction and offers a Mandarin Curriculum designed with Beijing Language and Cultural University in China. Curriculum framework includes IEYC for Early Learning, Cambridge for Primary and Secondary, and IB option for Grade 11 and Grade 12.
4. Fees and Apply Process: Tuition ranges from IDR 25 Million in ELC up to IDR 187 Million in Grade 12 per annum, with variation by campus and level. This excludes a one-time registration fee, books and resources, learning resource fee, uniform, field trips, Chromebooks and laptops, external exams, ESL, and other services. Application steps include providing copies of school records for the past two years, birth certificate, copies of ID (student and parents) or passports, and (for international students) KITAS; filling out the online application form; and, after review and approval, enrollment is confirmed.
