Sekolah Cita Buana was established in 1995 in South Jakarta with seven students. A group of parents and educators created it to provide an education option that blends the Indonesian national curriculum with international elements, and to offer bilingual instruction in Indonesian and English. Since 2001, 150 graduates have progressed to higher education, with many pursuing studies abroad in Australia, the United Kingdom, the United States, Canada, the Netherlands, New Zealand, Singapore, and Malaysia. The school has grown to about 540 students, and alumni are now attending universities around the world.

The campus comprises three buildings—Middle & High School, Early Years & Primary, and Special Education—and features fully equipped laboratories for science education, as well as an Early Years Playground. Located in Jagakarsa, South Jakarta, near Clilandak Estate and Ragunan Zoo, the school offers two mini soccer fields, two basketball courts, and a semi-Olympic swimming pool to support PE and sport. It emphasizes community, learning, lifestyle, with clubs focusing on academics, service, and lifestyle.
