The admissions criteria are based on multiple factors including school records, test results, age, and an interview, all relevant to the grade intended for enrollment. 2. SGIA accepts students from diverse school backgrounds with a range of academic abilities. The school reserves the right to refuse admission to students whose educational or physical needs cannot be well served by SGIA, or to those with references indicating that enrollment may be detrimental to the school. 3. The school offers scholarships. A University Counsellor Team provides guidance and support on scholarship applications, interview techniques, academic references and writing personal statements. Many SGIA students are awarded scholarships.
Sekolah Global Indo-Asia (SGIA) is an international school in Batam, Indonesia, serving ages 3 to 18. The campus offers a blended curriculum with the IB Primary Years Programme (PYP) for K1–Grade 5 and the IB Diploma Programme (DP) for the upper level, alongside Cambridge International Examinations, including Lower Secondary, IGCSE, and Advanced/AICE, and an Indian Curriculum option. The IB DP was authorised in 2016 and emphasizes Extended Essay, Theory of Knowledge and Creativity, Activity and Service. The school provides English as the medium of instruction, with Bahasa Indonesia mother-tongue support and Mandarin available from Kindergarten 3.
