Social and Emotional Learning (SEL)

Students and staff participate in events that highlight the school's dedication to academic excellence, national identity, and global-mindedness.

Mental Wellbeing

The school provides mental well-being support through a school counselor, Ms Jennifer. It operates Anti-Bullying Week to promote a safe and supportive environment. Ms Jennifer hosts parent coffee house sessions to discuss effective bullying prevention strategies and strengthen home–school collaboration. These activities promote kindness, respect, and responsible behavior among students.

Safeguarding

The school fosters a safe and supportive environment and engages parents in safeguarding efforts, including anti-bullying initiatives and collaborative discussions led by the school counselor.

SIS Medan is part of the Singapore Intercultural School network in Medan, Indonesia. Founded in 2003, 1.2-hectare campus serves over 400 students from playgroup to senior level. The SIS Group, formerly Singapore International School, began in 1995 with its first building in North Jakarta and now operates seven campuses across Indonesia, including SIS Medan. The curriculum blends national and international standards: Preschool uses the Nurturing Early Learners Framework with Mandarin and Information Technology; Primary follows the Singaporean Curriculum with Life Skills, Knowledge Skills and Subject-Based Learning, including English, Mathematics and Science, plus Chinese, Bahasa Indonesia and ICT. Secondary combines Singaporean and Cambridge programmes, with Cambridge Check Point and IGCSE assessments. Junior College offers the IB Diploma Programme with Extended Essay, Theory of Knowledge and Creativity, Activity, Service. Co-curricular activities span Arts, Music and sport; a Community Service Programme underpins student development, alongside language and arts offerings that support multilingual expression.
