SIS Surabaya teaches IB (DP), Cambridge (Primary), Cambridge (Secondary), Cambridge IGCSE, Singapore Curriculum for students aged 2 to 18.
Preschool uses the Nurturing Early Learners Framework, with six learning areas (Language and Literacy; Numeracy; Discovery of the World; Motor Skills Development; Social and Emotional Development; Aesthetic and Creative Expression) plus Information Technology and Mandarin. Primary follows the Singaporean Curriculum with three learning domains—Life Skills, Knowledge Skills and Subject Based Learning—and the core subjects of English, Mathematics, Science and Chinese; Bahasa Indonesia, Technology, Global Perspectives, Physical Education, Visual and Performing Arts, PPKN and Religion are also taught. The Primary Curriculum emphasizes developing the whole child through student-centred lessons, cross-curricular projects and a mix of formal and informal assessment. Secondary employs both the Singaporean and Cambridge International programmes for students aged 13–16, with Lower Secondary subjects including English Language/ESOL, Chinese and Indonesian Languages, Mathematics, Science, Computer Science, Global Perspectives, Literature, Visual and Performing Arts and Physical Education; Upper Secondary offers a broad range including English/ESOL, English Literature, Mathematics, Additional Mathematics, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Chinese and Indonesian, Information Technology, Art and Design, Global Perspectives, Business Studies, Economics and Physical Education; International assessments include Cambridge Lower Secondary Checkpoint and Cambridge IGCSE. Admission Process
1. School Inquiry / School Tour. Families inquire about SIS Surabaya and arrange a school tour to learn about the school and meet admissions staff.
2. Initial Document Submission & Processing Enrollment Form for the placement process. Documents: photocopy of the student's passport and 2 years of their academic transcript from their current school, if any.
3. Registration Fee. A registration fee is payable to complete the placement process.
4. Interview with Head Teacher / Deputy Head Teacher (for all levels). If the student and parents are located abroad, the interview is conducted via Skype at Jakarta time; the school will notify the time and date.
5. Confirmation of Acceptance. The school confirms acceptance after review of documents and interview.
6. School Fee Payment. Parents pay the school fees as part of enrollment.
7. Uniform Purchase. Uniforms are purchased after acceptance and fee payment.
The SIS Founder Scholarship was established by the family of Jaspal Sidhu, Founder and Chairman of the SIS Group of Schools, to honour his father and to make quality education accessible to talented and determined students. The scholarship is awarded on a case-by-case basis and requires Board approval upon recommendation from the Head Teachers of each school. Eligibility includes financial need, a passion for learning, and qualities such as integrity, humility, compassion, perseverance, and the ability to collaborate and communicate effectively. The specific amounts awarded are determined case by case and approved by the Board of SIS Group of Schools.
